Reviews on AlsoClick power our objective, weighted rankings. These guidelines ensure our evaluations remain practical, fair, and free from artificial manipulation.

What Makes a Great Review

The most valuable reviews help readers make informed technical decisions. Focus on:

  • Practical Use Cases: How did you use the AI tool in your workflow? Did it save time or improve output quality?
  • Pros and Cons: Highlight where the tool excels as well as its limitations, bugs, or quirks.
  • Pricing & Value: Was the free tier sufficient? Did paid plans provide good return on investment?
  • Reliability & Latency: Mention stability, API uptime, model hallucinations, or token rate limits if applicable.

Prohibited Review Practices

Incentivized or Paid Reviews

You may not accept money, free credits, gifts, or favors in exchange for publishing or editing a positive review.

Competitor Smear Campaigns

Creators and affiliates are strictly forbidden from writing negative or misleading reviews targeting competing products.

AI-Generated Generic Spam

Reviews that simply regurgitate marketing bullets or generic AI praises (“This is a revolutionary tool!”) without real details are rejected.

Sybil Networks & Duplicate Votes

Creating multiple accounts to inflate review volume triggers automated account flagging and rating nullification.

Helpful Voting & Bayesian Ranking

Members can vote “Helpful” on constructive reviews to elevate high-quality feedback to the top. To prevent 1-vote skew (e.g. a tool with one 5-star vote jumping above veteran tools), AlsoClick computes catalog rankings using weighted Bayesian calculations:

Weighted Score = (v / (v + m)) * R + (m / (v + m)) * C
Where v is tool review count, m is minimum threshold, R is tool average, and C is directory-wide mean rating.

Review Moderation & Editing

You retain ownership of your review and may update or delete it whenever software updates change your experience. If you spot a fraudulent review, use the Report button on the review item to alert our moderation team for review.
